Imagine life during a pandemic, with no regular doctor. If you begin to feel sick, who do you call? Sadly, that is reality for many of Equal Hope's clients. 80% of the women we serve have no regular place of care - no medical home. While Black Chicagoans make up 30% of our city, heartbreakingly 70% of COVID-19 deaths are Black and Brown Chicagoans,. Undiagnosed healthcare conditions can become deadly in combination with COVID-19. This is both tragic and unacceptable, but we can do something about it.
In July, Equal Hope launched a new program designed to connect our clients to Primary Care Providers. Equal Hope is paying for the first visit. With your support, we can help more Chicagoans establish a relationship with a healthcare professional they trust. Ten years ago, Chicago was one of the worst cities in the country for breast cancer mortailty disparities; today it is recognized as one of the most improved. As we turn our attention to the pandemic, your generous gift will have a real impact in Chicago's healthcare system.
We have three separate foundations matching contributions for this year’s #GivingTuesday. If you are a new donor to Equal Hope or able to increase your gift over last year, your investment in our mission will be tripled…That’s right…TRIPLED! Together, we can pay for a lot of first time visits to Primary Care Doctors!
